History of Fairburn Main Street

Fairburn's unique history began as the Town of Campbellton, one of Georgia's oldest counties along the state's CSX railway, and is reminiscent of mobility and quality of life that has always contributed to the town's population growth. The Campbell County Courthouse, which is listed with the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1871 and is a late example of the 19th-century classical architectural style in Georgia, built approximately six years following the American Civil War.

Places like the Southside Theatre Guild, the Georgia Renaissance Festival, and Oz Pizza are staples and natural spaces that visitors love to explore. The City of Fairburn is also home to a thriving educational network of universities and schools with the presence of Brenau University, Georgia Military Academy, and several public and private options for families such as Landmark Christian School, Arlington Christian School, Campbell Elementary School, E.C. West Elementary School, the Bedford School, Bear Creek Middle, Creekside High School, and Langston Hughes High School.

Fairburn is prime for prospective business development, offering an array of commercial properties for small business or mixed-use developments.
