  • When does sanitation service end with GFL?
    • The last service date will be January 3, 2024. Over a 30-day span, trash carts (blue, green and black) will be methodically collected from the curbside of all residences. Trash carts with the following names/logos will be collected: GFL, CLM and Waste Industries.
  • When is the last day for bulk and recycling pickup services by GFL?
    • The last date of bulk and recycling pickup services by GFL will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023. For residents that receive back door recycling services, the bins will not be returned once collected.
  • When is my first service day with Amwaste?
    • Your first service day will be the week of January 2, 2024.
  • What day of the week will I receive sanitation services?
    • Your cart will be tagged with your service day on the lid.
  • Do I qualify for a discount?
    • If you are 65 years or older, you are qualified for the Senior Rate. There will be a 20% discount applied to your monthly bill. The monthly rate for all services with the 20% Senior Discount is $23.07. Please contact Fairburn Utilities Department (770-969-3481) to add this discounted rate to your bill.
  • What is the cost per month?
    • The monthly rate for all services is $28.84. Monthly services include:
      • Weekly Household Trash Service
      • Backdoor Service Option (must qualify)
      • Weekly Yard Waste Service
      • 2x Monthly Curbside Bulk Service
  • What is One-Bin Solution?
    • One-Bin Solution service is a collection system that comingles recyclable with non-recyclable material. The collected material is taken to a high-tech facility specifically designed to source separate items. For more information, please click on the link below:

  • When will my cart be delivered?
    • Amwaste will start delivering trash carts on December 18, 2023. This process will take approximately 2 weeks. All carts will be delivered by January 1st, 2024.
  • Do I need to bag my trash?
    • Yes, please make sure all items are bagged and placed inside your cart.
  • I have large boxes I need to dispose of. What should I do?
    • Break down the boxes and place them inside of the trash cart.
  • Do you service bags that are not able to fit inside of my cart?
    • Amwaste does not service bags outside of the cart, however residents have the option to add a second cart for an additional fee of $7.50 per month.
  • When should I place my cart out?
    • Please place your cart out the night before but no later than 7AM on your service day to ensure pickup. Please leave the cart curbside for service until serviced by Amwaste.
  • If I fail to place my cart at the curb in a timely manner, or, if I have more trash than normal, can I schedule an extra pickup for my cart?
    • Yes, all extra pickup fees are $25.00 per return. These fees are processed by the Amwaste Customer Service Team directly. They must be paid before the extra pickup is scheduled and completed. To schedule an extra pickup, please call Amwaste Customer Service at 706-298-7274.
  • When is the bulk service?
    • The First and Third Monday of each month. This service is limited to 3 items per week. No phone call is required to schedule this service.
  • When is yard waste serviced?
    • Yard waste will be collected on your trash service day each week. All yard waste must be bagged, and twigs must be bundled. They should not exceed 50 pounds in weight. No phone call is required to schedule this service.
  • Where should I place my cart for service?
    • Carts should always be placed at least five feet away from any object. Once the cart is placed at the curb the wheels and lid hinges should be closest to your house. Please refer to the diagram below:
